Exactly the same a friend from LR Romania's technical staff told me.
That the FL2 is by far the most successful / reliable model compared with other LR models.
It seems that the whole design is different from the others.
For example, the places that the electrical connectors are placed suggests that the designer took into consideration the possibility of water ingress/corrosion. So they are put in places that condensed water could not easily reach, compared with other LR models where the prevalence of corroded connectors due to condensed water ingress is greater. Also the design of the connectors is different.
So, who knows, maybe the design team was giving its best in the FL2's case or was most of it different.
