In the boot, on the right side corner (between the stop lamp and wheel arch) under that small floor trim.
There is a small hollow there just for that.

2008 Freelander 2 TD4 S Manual Indus Silver

In the wheely bin!

Had one split on my Discovery and had to get mechanic to get wheel off. Took the others off the Disco that day. The day the FL2 came off came the locking wheel nuts.

You will thank me when you are at the side of the motorway and can't get the wheel off.
