Non FL2 winter tyres

Long way off winter yet but my Dad's Audi A4 (front wheel drive) has around 3k miles left in the tyres and he can't stretch to 2 sets of tyres so he is considering having winter tyres fitted all year.

I understand that winter tyres will have less grip in warm dry conditions and they will wear out faster. The pay off will be the ability to get from A to B in all but horrendous snow where he might have to ring me to help with my tyres whose various nicknames can't be used due to being on the forum blacklist Laughing

So, winter vs summer tyres all year rouund. Your thoughts? LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Doc,

Not sure about anyone on here but over on the D3/4 and FFRR forum there are some of the guys running vreds all year round getting good mileage from them and having no problems with them in the warmer weather.

At the moment I'm running all weather types on the FFRR but will consider vreds when these need changing Thumbs Up ______________________

You could weigh up what everyone suggests, ie, winters or summer then go with intermediates Whistle
