hi there, since you guys have helped me with good advice, I would like your opinion on the latest noise.
in our ventilation & A/C system, the directional flaps are controlled by stepper motors. When u select windscreen, feet, or face you hear the 'VRRRRR? of the motor whilst the flap opens / closes.
Now, since a couple of weeks ago, I hear all the time 1 second of 'VRR' then 2 seconds silence and again 1 second of 'VRR', as if the stepper motor is trying to close a flap that is slightly ajar.
If I switch the system off the noise disappears (fan to 0).
the fist time it did it I put the fan on max and opened one flap at a time and the noise disappeared (I thought maybe something was keeping a flap open)
The noise came again after a week... the same procedure did not help. I switched the system off and on until it stopped.
you got to listen to the noise, or it will get lost in road noise (EXample: at the traffic lights).
I am worried that eventually the motors will fail, or the flap will break (as it did in the Jeep grand Cherokee - known fault)
any ideas ?
has anyone had the same noise ?
