Interesting points everyone and I appreciate them. However, you guys are already owners and obviously have a certain bias towards the F2 (so do I and that is why this is so difficult to be impartial). So, in a nutshell do you think that the sale off to Tata will affect prices and would you still buy one now? |

Pete, I don't have a Freelander2 but I do drive 2 other LR models..................... however I wouldn't let the sale of LR to Tata sway my decision to buy an F2 if I were in the market for one - after-all it's probably going to be a couple of years before anybody notices anything different in the way the company is run - and Tata will not be in any great hurry to upset a winning formula and dirty one of the the world's best known brand names. I also doubt with present market conditions that you will see any price rises - folks aren't spending large amounts of money at the moment with all the uncertainties in the financial world. How can carbon have a footprint, it has no feet?

Mine is due 1st of March so could have canceled the order but have not done so. I feel that Tata will not buy into something that is working well and therefore making money only to destroy it. that is not good business sense. |

I suppose you British are worried when someone buys LR, after what happened with other British car manufacturers. But this time the seller needs money, lots of money, because it makes losses in the US. I suppose Tata wants the knowledge of Land Rover for its own Indian production and something to spend their money on (they have lots of money, because they make huge benefits in India).
