Mandatory loss on penalties

Well England are out on penalties again. Apart from some good moves in the 1st half, Italy were far superior and deserved to go through. We were crap in the 2nd half and extra time.

Why do we even bother going through a penalty shootout? We always lose (last shootout win was Euro 96 against Spain). UEFA or FIFA should allow a "throw the towel in" option. This would be better than penalties for crappy England.

Still, Germany would have hammered us and will beat Italy and I bagged £18 with a bet on Italy so it could have been worse Laughing LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

I watched the euro 96 shoot out in the local pub, the tv broke half way through the penalties, we had to run into the car park and stand round a car radio. happy days Laughing At work
