England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Baltic Blue
RPM

Hit 4000 rpm today in my FL2 auto, and realised that there is no "red sector" on the tacho. Is there a red line on the manual version? If so, what's the max?

United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Baltic Blue

Chrisaviss, my manual TD4 has no red line but the dial is calibrated upto an unlikely 6000rpm. Have not hit the rev limiter yet to find that oh dear feeling! should I really be overtaking this juggernaut the length of a politicians lies here. still pining for my 3dr, no removeable hardtop, no drop glass tailgate, no roof rack, no pockets everywhere to stow all that man kit

who needs revs?

Found rev limit really easily in my old Disco TDI, around 4300 revs. In my FL2 auto, with 6 gears instead of 4, the car seems to thrive at low revs, so not sure I'd ever bother to find out. However I imagine it will be very similar.  Life is not a dress rehearsal!

The rev limiter cuts in as Nick Jan says, around 4300. Just kick the box into sport mode and and floor the throttle. The computer does the rest.
