when you asked for a Land ROVER, did they think it was an appetiser ? I used to be the liason between a japanese manufacturer and a ( Lancashire believe it or not) engineering company, their managers always introduced them selves by their surnames, Mr Yamamoto , same name as a famous Admiral, Mr Haga no problem same name as my favourite bike racer, but Mr FUKHIYA Laughing , I had to bite my lip and pinch my leg 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

I don't know what's worse! The waste of hard earned foreign exchange or the hideous eyesore that I have to drive past twice a day!! Could be worse, at least it isn't grey as well Laughing
Time for some medication, I think Rolling Eyes

How should I feel, then?
I've bought a FL2, in a country that makes another SUV...
Should my neighbors feel like you said?
With no offence, why bother with such things?
Go out there and play, live and let live...

I wish I had bought a KIA Thumbs Up
I reckon I would of had far better service and warranty support !
Instead of the FR2 piece of junk that has gone wrong so many times from new with poor support from L/R customer service and 2 dealerships who couldn't even fix a pram. I certainly wouldn't get excited about owning an FR2 Its just the badge your buying ! quality and reliability don't come into it !

Fortunately, mine seems to be holding up to nearly 40,000 miles a year brilliantly and on the very few occasions I've had to visit either Roger Young's in Cornwall, or Kentdale in Kendal, the service has been amongst the very best I've ever received. Thumbs Up

I wonder if he is able to make a successful claim under the warranty for it looking like something that Datsun or Toyota might have designed around 1974? Rolling Eyes

Oddly enough, KIA don't mention (unless pushed) that it's limited to 100,000 miles, with a list of exclusions that grows longer as time goes by. Extended warranties like this aren't a reflection of the manufacturer's belief in the product, they are simply priced in to the manufacturer's cost of sale. No one would say that Vauxhall produces the best made cars in the world, yet they are able to provide a warranty that's valid, not for just 7 years, but as long as you keep the car (though, oddly enough, their confidence disappears at 100,000 miles too!)

Mind you, all this turns out to be irrelevant, because it actually turns out to be a Hyundai after all!! Laughing Apparently, there's a difference Shocked

To add to the Vauxhall warranty too... as far as I know it's only for the first owner! Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35

Vauxhalls Warranty pretty much covers very little.

Here is an excerpt...

Wiring harnesses, hoses and connectors are excluded.

Furthermore, not covered are all service maintenance repairs and wear and tear parts. Excluded is the replacement of components that have failed due to wear and tear.

The warranty does not extend to the fixing of consequential damage caused by the above mentioned covered components

and wear and tear parts basically anything that moves they could turn round and say "No, not covered"
