2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Auto Stornoway Grey
Radio Fault

My August 2007 FL2 GS Auto recently had a flat battery. It was found to be caused by the radio continuing to draw 1.5 amps when apparently switched off. The radio is the single slot CD type. Removing Fuse 6 is the temporary fix.
I did notice the previous day that the radio switched on by itself - this was perhaps the fault incident. I have heard that possibly there is a software update or maybe the radio will need to be replaced (£400!).
Replacing the fuse allows correct operation of the radio, but I remove it when parked.

Any experience of this out there?

Dealer should be able mod the software so the head unit goes in 'sleep' mode once ign is turned off. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.
