Apologies if I am asking a really dumb question but I cant seem to find the answer in the user manual.

When I switch on the ignition a minus sign comes up with 89 after it.
I am assuming that this is a service interval indicator but the number after the minus sign bears no relation to the additional miles covered after the service is due.

I am going to reset the indicator as the car does not need a service yet but just wanted to double check that this the service indicator?

It is saying it is way overdue for a service by 89 days, The indicator works on a mileage and time whichever is soonest, it maybe that mileage wise you are not due but calendar wise you are.

Or the service indicator was nor rest after the last service.

In my book it's page 137 under maintenance.

The service interval is 12 months or 15,000 miles whichever comes first. So, if you dont do more than 15k miles in a year it is down to the 12 months interval.  2010 HSE TD4 auto, Biscay Blue, Almond Leather, facelift front and rear, detachable towbar, front & rear mudflaps, bib spoilers, clear high level brake light, smooth rear wiper, colour coded door handles.
