Saw yet another RR prototype broken down on the A46 blocking the inside lane, not half a mile from JLR's engineering plant in Coventry on Tuesday. The RR is going to be all new (which probably explains all the breakdowns, and mileage they're trying to get on them) with an aluminium chassis to get the weight down.
And this morning a facelift Freelander driving on the Fosse Way. Don't get your hopes too high though, only the lights were taped up front and rear. The rest of the car is the same as we already have. I'd bank on interior upgrades mainly a few engine tweeks. * speed gearbox from the Jag XF possibly too, stop start on the auto's etc.
And it will have running lights, but not in the silly arrangement under/round the headlights as in the current Land Rover range. I could tell because the light poking through the disguise, which appeared to be the standard headlight, extinguished as the car indicated right, and came back on when the indicator's stopped. The indicator's looked like LED's too, and the running light was the light closest to the grille i.e inside of the light cluster.
Will keep my eyes pealed for any more info! Mine: 2012 Golf GTI Edition 35
Family's: 2009 Freelander 2 HSE TD4 Auto, Stornoway
