After a bit of Googling, this seems to be a common issue with cars and Android phones after the upgrade to ICS. There even appears to be a workaround on Google Play:

Same here with my iPhone till I removed the rubber phone cover some weeks back, it hasn't lost any connection. Well not in the last couple of weeks that I notice. |

Thanks, I will give that App a try. Still doesn't explain why the Nokia does the same thing. But it is good to know I am not the only one having this issue. |

Early days, but it appears that the App I mentioned previously resolves the issue for Android ICS phones - well, it does for my wife's Samsung Galaxy S2!

A week on now and I can confirm that we've experienced no Bluetooth audio drop outs in the car. So the App seems well worth the 80-something pence! |
