I would not consider steel wheels even if there are such things as the existing wheel nuts will be made to seat in alloys, a set of 16" or 17" alloy wheels of e-bay is a reality for a couple of hundred quid if you are patient and will be cheaper now than they were in the months running up to the winter. I got 5 new 17" XS wheels for £240 last year. Then as for A/T tyres the world is your lobster in those rim sizes For greenlaning rather than mud plugging just also consider the damage Mud Terrain can do. 2009 GS Auto Zermatt Silver - Sold June 21 after 10 years of ownership

because you cant just lock the center diff and crawl through the rocky bumpy stuff like in a defender, you are going to find the best option is to start hitting stuff with a bit of momentum and right foot to get the haldex to work.

I'll second the comment about potential mud damage. I went in deep thick mud that reached the top of the wheels on the drivers side and the heat shield was bent onto the prop shaft. LR fixed it under warranty but it shows what can happen. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby
