LR allows now using fuel additives/conditioners...

In certain circumstances, LR allows now using fuel additives/conditioners...
So, at least from now on, during winter, no more fuel related problems.

Title: Diesel Fuel Wax Breaker – Cold Climate Markets
Models: Range Rover Evoque, Freelander, Freelander 2, Range Rover Classic, Range Rover, New Range Rover, Defender, Discovery 1, Discovery 2, Discovery 3, Discovery 4, Range Rover Sport

Issue: During extremely cold weather (below minus 15 degrees) diesel engines can experience difficulties with starting due to fuel starvation.
Cause: Formation of wax crystals in diesel fuel leading to blocked fuel filters and fuel lines.
Action: To prevent the above issue from occurring Land Rover engineering now approve the use of BG DFC Plus diesel fuel conditioner (added to the fuel tank) which must be locally sourced. BG DFC Plus diesel fuel conditioner prevents fuel gelling and prevents entrained moisture from icing. For maximum results this additive should be used before the temperature drops below freezing.
Please follow all instructions on the product labeling prior to use and ensure they are fully adhered to.
BG DFC Plus part number is 23032. Supplementary information on this BG additives can be found on the BG Products website http://www.bgprod.com/products/diesel.html
BG Distributors are located throughout the World as detailed on the BG website http://www.bgprod.com/bgdistloc/distloc2.php worldwide

Good to know for next year Alex, I won't have to light a fire under the plastic fuel tank anymore Smile , Also on my first service the dealer used a 'fuel system cleaner', I'm not sure if it was for lubricity, cleaning or some other but it must have been sanctioned by LR I would think. Confused

Wet wipe to clean the filler cap probably Laughing

IMHO I would be sceptical about a single can of cleaner every 15k, those who don't have any issues with DPF messages would probably need the cleaner more often.
V Power or Ultimate fuels take a couple of fills to work their magic, so a single can into a tank full of potentially cheap diesel doesn't make sense to me.

Sales targets, every little helps. Thumbs Up

Have a tank of supermarket fuel at present, 10p a litre off coupon had to be used......it's definately not as nimble.
Cajoled the boss into another 5p a mile for fuel, back to the good stuff.

Hi ,

If are you claiming the fuel for using a car not owned or directly leased by your company are you claiming the full allowance between what your boss pays and the 45 pence ( first 10k miles) and 40 pence ( miles exceeding 10K) from the Inland Revenue ? I'm interested as i'm thinking of packing the company car in next year to get some equity in a car for before early retirement, or hopefully a voluntary redundancy in the next 3 years........ Yes Martyn, I claim the difference, the more the company pay the better though, as the rest is a tax relief not the full amount.
The car is mine, payed for by an increase in salary, the insurance is my own and reimbursed through expenses, I pay BIK on it but it gives me my own no claims.
