GBP£1.48 a litre diesel is more expensive than what we are paying today down in the valley at our small local (2 pump) fuel stop. Here on today's FX it is selling for CHF1.91 = GBP£1.32

Bring the coalition down - make'em all work in the coal mines or on the bin wagons. Vote me for PM and I'll sell off all the royalist Windsor's estates (yes and those in Scotland before AS gets his independence) and that will pay for the lowering of fuel duties and secure the NHS and fund investment in manufacturing industry. Oh and I'd put 50% VAT on caravan sales and they'd have to pay Road Tax duty of £100p.a. That's just for starters - you know it makes sense - vote Athelstan the party of the people.

They'll never lower it unfortunately.

Just to depress you further, I've looked at this helpful website:
www.fuelwatch.wa.gov.au
It shows where the cheapest fuel is around Perth W.A. for the following day as our fuel prices change daily over here.

I see that Diesel is 98p a litre.

Petrol is £1.03 a litre for 98 Ron.

Contract an oil tanker - The Good Ship FL2 - chartering from Oman (25p a litre) with 5 million litres of diesel on board, paying UKGov import duty and storing the shipment at one facility to then be "given away" (so no sales tax) to those FL2 members who funded the charter & storage.

Q1: would it prove to be an economically viable?
Q2: would it be legal?
Q3: who is interested?

I thought of something similar to that athelstan.

We have a refinery in Perth in which one can purchase fuel in bulk.
So my thinking was to buy a second hand fuel tanker, fill it it with fuel and then store it for a few months somewhere until the fuel prices inevitably increase. Then sell it for more than I bought it for but LESS than what the garage is selling it. Going around filling up at peoples homes or an arranged meeting place.
This would also cover the costs of purchasing the tanker or sell it on afterwards.

But yes, there is a health and safety issue and one would probably need a permit or something Rolling Eyes
