My March 2011 FL2 was ordered in November 2010 (almost 20 weeks!)

Biggest problem with FL2 builds is that LR are producing the Evoque on the same production line and at present cannot build Evoques quick enough. I think I read on here that LR build 7 Evoques to every FL2 so build times have suffered as a result.

Dealer has no control on delivery date, he orders it for you and then the factory 'advises' a delivery date which will fluctuate dependant upon when you car actually makes it onto the production line.

Would be worth asking the dealer for some form of compensation for your inconvenience, perhaps an off road day, some accessories (car mats or rubber mats are about £100) or even ask if they can throw in a free service.

The wait will certainly be worth it - the FL2 is SUPERB!!! Now - 2017 BMW X3 M Sport Carbon Black

They say they can't build evoques fast enough, but they were not exactly running the production line at full speed, and the holding pens on the line didn't have a single car in when we did the visit

Obviously the lines were in full swing when it was prelaunch, so they said

last time i was at the factory dec 2011 both lines were running but evoke outnumberd freelander production 2 to one lots of the evokes were desting for x port and were being marshalled at the rail head wating for the train,KK dont go in with ur guns blazing it will get you no ware be polite and tactfull as i have learned in the past that gets you in most places and a good result at the end of the production line we were watching the cars comming out of the factory to the storage areas and three evokes come out to one freelander. rainy-city
