My sons out grown his seat and we now need to get just the booster seat without the back, but the ones I've seen all seem a little too wide and the bases don't sit on the seat between the side bolsters in the front, and in the rear the side bolster pushes it over the buckle point on the seat

The car is a Vaux Corsa Ltd Edtion which has the sporty bucket seats, though I have the same issue in my freelander but the bolsters ain't as prominant

Anyone solved this or know of any booster seats with narrower bases??

Try a Maxi-Cosi Rodi XR. It's a booster seat with a back that comes off...

It's the only one we found that would fit the seat in our Audi.

I think the seat cost around £80, I know it's a bit much when you only
need the base section, but needs must...

Halfords cheap and cheerful booster is one of the narrowest around! I can easily get one inbetween two group 1 / 2 seats in the back of the FL with plenty of room and when in the front it seams to fit well. It's not much to look at but does the job. Maxi cosi rodi xr is a superb seat, got 2 for the fl2 and they fit a treat. If you want just the base style ones then halfords also sell an Italian sounding one called a bellelli lusso I think, got 2 of those as well for the other car and they are very smart grey and black and nicer than the usual stuff. They were £15 each from memory.

Picked up a couple of halfords booster seats, couldn't find fault and fitted perfectly for £8

I just folded up a towel underneath the booster to even out the space...

Doubles up as an "accident" absorber!
