It's currently Pirelli, Dunlop, Bridgestone or Goodyear only.

The Pirelli ATR's would do nicely, if they will accept the H rating.

Okay, we have a result:

The tyre chain in question have conceded and will be removing the Pirelli Verde's and will be replacing them with the OEM Continental M+S tyres. Result!

Incidentally, according to Pirelli's own website, although the Verde's have no off road capability, they score "6/6" for green credentials, including a 20% reduction in rolling resistance and a 10% reduction in weight. Impressive stuff!

In the 6 days that they have been fitted I've driven another 850 miles; so what is the difference in fuel consumption?

Answer: None what so ever! Shocked

Tigger,
My 08MY O/E boots were Michelin Latitude Tour HP 108V. I've still got them stored in my garage and they've done 32k miles Thumbs Up
Very good tyre but not for the winter up t'North.

Should be fine for mild Cornwall Thumbs Up Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

How on Earth do you (and a few others on here) get 32,000 miles out of a set of tyres, let alone have enough rubber left over to make it worth storing them?!!

I've got to venture "up t'North" at the start of April so I'll be glad to have my M+S tyres back on...

Those Mich tyres just seem to go on and on. They are down to about 3mm, but my very helpful tyre dealer reckons they are good for another 5k. I don't use a 'tyre chain' company either!

Where up t'North will you be going, anywhere near me? Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

I hate tyre chains and always use an independent when it's my own car.

We'll be passing by on the M6 on the way up to Kendal....

I'm travelling down early on the 6th to spend a long weekend with my daughters, setting off about 3.00am in the morning. It'll just be me, wife's staying home with the dog. Very Happy Bliss Thumbs Up
