Hi guys I've posted in the welcome section but my names andy and I've had my 07 reg Stornaway grey hse a couple of weeks now and love it. Just wondering if it's a hard job to replace these pipes and thinking of upgrading to black silicone as a preventative measure more than anything. Is it a garage job?

Which pipes are you referring to? Is it the daft engine breather via the organ type pipe at the rear of the engine?
They tend to leak, Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Hi mate it's the intercooler and turbo hoses. The rubber hoses that join to the turbo and intercooler inlet and outlet ect

I've not replaced them on my 08my so cant say although some members on here have had split pipes.
Think it would be wise to change them on an older car.
Also, the engine breather goes via the intercooler and back to the sump through a oil separator which isn't that clever.
If you look to the left rear of the engine when viewed from the front, by the organ pipe, feel the joint underneath for oil. This is a common leak.
It's quite normal and an easy fix; Blue Hylomar and a big jubilee clip. Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.
