I informed my insurance and they weren't bothered! The grabber at rating is still far higher than required, and the recommended V rating is just ridiculous! I spent literally hours on the phone to LR trying to question the the V rating but couldn't get any sense from numerous departments or dealers! I asked why they were selling off road vehicles then recommending a speed rating that makes it almost impossible to find an off road tyre! Almost like selling a boat that u can't get wet! Confused

Goodyear Wrangler All Weather.

News to me that the Wranglers are being replaced by the Efficient grip tyres.

I asked Michelin about 'V or 'H' rated tyres.
They replied in writing that 'H' rate was fine for Freelander2 Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

So why Goodyear Wrangler over the general UHP???

Is it because most of us have had the wranglers fitted and know more about it, or is there anything bad about the UHP?

For me, I know nothing about the 'General UHP'. Just that the tyres fitted from new was 'Wranglers' and 15,000 miles later they have worn evenly with 6mm tread left on them, so no comparison really just good wear and tear and quietness on the road.

Do you find the extra 1mm width noticeable?? Wink

New Grabber AT fitted 2 days before Crimbo ,
the extra 1 mm width looks kool grips better,
and sprays more mud on RRs....

little more road noise with the AT,s
(BUT don,t have to use the horn as much, as the sheep can hear you coming over the mountain)

Were the mud is thicker, and the ruts are deeper.

I couldn't get hold of any General Grabber AT's a few month ago and rang about 14 differant dealers. In the end I settled for a Cooper Discovery AT which seems pretty decent on road, in snow and off road.

One thing I have noticed though between the AT tyre and the standard "Road tyres" that were on before is that my MPG fell by 2, so they must be gripping something. lol

My Wranglers are wearing at about the same rate as EYorkshire's, i am well satisfied with them, so would have the same again. My wife's Zafira has Efficient Grip tyres, these replaced the Eagle NCT type, on normal cars, so perhaps Good Year are just extending the use of the name to include 4x4 tyres.
