United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e GS Manual Santorini Black

Mines a 2010GS.
just been outside to check and the marks are there.

The left hand mark rubbed off with kitchen roll, the right hand one has one rough spot, more like a deposit than wear.

I'll be keeping an eye on this

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Sumatra Black

Just checked my 07 reg, not expecting to find anything and blow me down with a feather duster! It is how you have shown it but a little worse!! No rust but both sides are down to the metal in a few places!!

I am used to driving a pick-up truck for the last 5 years so this is nothing compared to what marks/dents/missing bits! a truck has on it! Laughing But if you have a car you care about I can understand your concerns Confused Black FL2

Don't worry lads, there won't be any rust Thumbs Up
The constant rubbing is removing the surface daily, you'll just end up with ventilation holes to the inside Whistle

Just had a close look at mine, obvious dirt marks, when these were cleaned away, the left hand side has a small pin hole in the paint, the car was built in August 2011 Shocked

Lunch time and her Ladyship is back home so I popped out to have a look.

Firstly after 27mths of ownership from new there is absolutely no evidence of wear on the bodywork, or, on the two black rubber conduits. Close observation of the opening and closing of the tailgate reveals that the black rubber conduits do not at any stage of that action come into contact with the body panels. And with reference to paint work finish - her FL2 MY2010 is not lacquered in that internal area.

Now you've got me at it, just been out and looked, 12 months old. Like athlestan there is no markings on the unlaquered surface and the conduits have plenty of clearance with the forward bodywork. The action of closing lays the conduit down gently and correctly on the bottom of the gutter.

Thought I'd post some 'no wear as yet' phone pics, maybe they stretch over time and don't lay correctly anymore.
