United Kingdom 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Narvik Black

I'll have to check mine but I'd assume it's the original as it was a company lease car before I bought it and I can't see it being changed, plus it has about 70k on it now so could be due a change.

The same fault came up again this morning and it was -3

Strange though because it comes up when you start the car, If I leave it ticking over for a min or so, then switch it off and start up again the fault dosen't come up.

Think I'll put a new battery on anyway though just to be safe.

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Baltic Blue

Lee when the engine has started and idled for a few minutes the alternator will have topped the battery just enough to avoid getting the message.
Recently had a winter health check and was expecting the dealership to condem the battery but they said all was well so will hold off changing till next winter. Gone, 2007 TD4 SE Auto Baltic blue, clear side repeaters, full sized alloy spare.

English by birth..... Yorkshire by the grace of God.

United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Santorini Black

Thanks for reminding me.

I had a request from Shell asking me to "offer feedback" now that they have answered my query... Umm - no they haven't. I've not had a reply. Two missed calls but no answers.

In fairness I didn't answer and have not been able to call back. I really must follow this up. Freelander 1 TD4 HSE - gone, 2 weeks after the Cat.Converter!

My battery is definitely on the way out after 5 years, but it has seen me through the worst of winter here in London. I took it in to my local tyre'n'battery man, who tested it and said it was fine, but of course by then it had charged itself up. It does seem to be losing power overnight. There's a recent post on here somewhere about checking it by switching the headlights on a couple of times first. Sorry can't remember who posted it.
Does seem that on this car if your battery isn't tip-top you will see problems, especially the HDC not available warning.
