Scotland 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Izmir Blue
Roof bars

I just got my first Freelander, and I would like to use roof bars. It doesn't have roof rails, and I don't like the look of the gutterless roof bars you can buy. With my x-trail, the foot pack fitted into special slots in the roof under the trim. Does the Freelander have anything like this, or do you have to install roof rails if you don't want to use the gutterless roof bars?

Welcome to the Forum.

It's either get roofrails fitted by LR or use Thule type feet and crossbars, which I assume are what you're referring to as gutterless.

I've used Thule footpack and crossbars on both my Freelander 2's, one with a roofbox and the second with a ski rack. They are quick to fit and remove and have not damaged the paintwork in the slightest. They are also cheaper than the LR OEM roofrails.
