England 2011 Freelander 2 TD4 GS Manual Firenze Red
Seats

Had a call from the sales manager yesterday saying that our new car has been ordered with half leather seats rather than the cloth ones.

We’ve two choices
1; He can reorder the vehicle with cloth and wait another 8 weeks Sad
2; We can have the half leather at half price and still have original delivery date next month Smile .
Which would you go for given the choice?

Has anyone had any issues with the half leather ones, ie splitting or electric adjustment failure etc?

He wants and extra £592.50 for the half leather, but we don't really want to wait an extra five weeks for cloth. Just need to know if anyone has had any issues with electrics as never had them before on seats, and would you consider it good value at that price?

hi

thats the dealers problem that they made a costly mistake on the order of your car, so tell them they made the mistake and you expect to get the upgraded seats FREE or they will have to give you a lone car untill the car can be reordered, 1995 P38 now dead

There has been issues in the past with the sides of the seats splitting with the Pleather ones, on the other hand, the electric seats have not really had any faults where as the mechanical seats have had issues in the past with the height adjustment playing up and issues where the adjuster can be knocked by your leg as you enter and exit.

my dealer accidentally ordered metallic in stead of plain black - he paid for it.

or maybe not as at this time plain black (narvik) was phased out so maybe the factory paid for it?? At work

Half leathers as fitted to the XS will probably have seat heaters in them, cloths dont do they?

Thanks for pointing that out, we had heated seats down as an option on the GS, thinking we should just go for a XS now and gain the Navigation, front parking sensors, puddle map & footwell lamps for about an extra £2350 and have a higher resale value later on. Very Happy
Just the extra waiting time to consider now. Sad

I Have the half leather too soon for ant problems, but have to say they are very comfy and I prefer them to full leather or cloth as you can get in and out easily but stay put when your driving. you also get lumber support on the drivers seat.
