Leather steering wheel

The leather on the steering wheel was getting a bit hard and sticky. So I decided to have it re-trimmed with soft quality napa leather. I had it done same style as discovery 4. Costed around 170€.

Looks good Thumbs Up Thinking of getting mine done - the standard old hard leather is a bit nasty! Freelander 2 TD4 Auto, SE, Narvik Black, Alpaca full leather, Rear Headrest Entertainment System, 6 CD, 18 HSE Wheels, Privicy tints

They took the wheel off to do it. I left the car in the store around 9am and at 3:30pm was ready. So I guess it takes about 5-6 hours to have it done.

Looks nice and the feel is superior...

Didn't most come with a napa steering wheel? Wink

Pre MY2010 no...
So that leather used before MY2010, wears fast and starts to be sticky and just peel off... Shocked
There is even a technical bulletin issued for that, but surprise...
Even if FL2 uses the same leather, the bulletin is only for Discovery... Interesting isn't it?...
I've had my steering wheel changed based on that bulletin, but after a lot of wrestling with the dealer, trying to explain that for sure LR didn't used two separate suppliers for its steering wheels on Disco and FL2.
