United Kingdom 2012 Freelander 2 SD4 XS Auto Fuji White

Have you had the latest software update for autos? Although I didn't have the warning lights it certainly improved the smoothness of the gearchanges Cheers,

If you have a manual, then that light can be triggered only by the rear Haldex system (active on-demand coupling).
Check its electrical connection and then its oil.

Thanks very much Alex, I don't suppose you have a picture as regards location of the Haldex?

The Haldex system is just in front of the rear differential.
In the picture below, the All-Wheel Drive Clutch.

Alex, thanks for the information, my light has been coming on intermittantly for a while. I've got the manual FL2 and will have a look in the light tomorrow. I take it that its easy to see the electrical connection which i'll give a clean and how do you check the oil level?

regards

Rob

It's easy to see the electrical connector, but I don't think that there's the problem because the connector is very well designed and there is a slim chance for oxidation...
As for the oil, see here: http://www.freel2.com/forum/post100292.html#100292
