I do 15000+ a year and have bought 4th year LR warranty after having rear diff bearing go noisy when apporaching 3rd birthday and end of warranty. Warranty Direct was the same price but local independednt (helps with Series 3) and main LR dealer reported claim disputes and with full LR history I would def get more consideration of wear and tear from LR. Had odd HDC and then TR warning light followed by multiple crank to restart engine when turning engine on and off in v heavy motorway hold up, fixed by dealer with software update under extended warranty! 500 quid soon gets gobbled up in any significant repair and I pay over 10 months interest free so not too painful for the peace of mind Gone... 2013 XS TD4 Manual Firenze Red

I bought 2 years extended warranty when I bought the car and it cost me about £600, I think. In my opinion it was well worth it for what I paid. It does seem that things start to go wrong after the LR warranty expires. I'm wondering now if my diff is starting to go, because the car seems noisier inside than it was (sounds like an increase in tyre/road noise). I presume this would cost lots of money to repair if I have to pay out of my own pocket, but with the warranty from the dealers I should be able to argue that a diff should last longer than 40k miles.
