How long did your glow plug light stay on for this morning?

As above, mine went off within a second at -5. Don't think that's right, took for ever to fire

-5 here glow light didnt come on, car started straight away as usual. the only time I have seen the light come on was last winter when the car had been stood at doncaster Airport for a fortnight at -18 with half a metre of snow on the top the light came on for a couple of seconds and then the car started straight away .
Thumbs Up

Fob in, foot on brake, button pressed, button released, glowlight on, nothing for 3 seconds, glowlight off then engine turned and started at -4 degrees.

not sure, my car was -2c and i was scraping ice of the side window and then just hopped in and started it, think there was a second or two pause whilst it thought about it.

loan car started straight away, maybe thats because the sales man who took it home over the weekend took 20mins to do his "i'm on my way, ill be there in 2mins" journey and the car was nice and warm, but i was then 20+mins late getting home

Was minus 4.5 here overnight. On starting the car (not used for 2 days) there was a noticeable delay (at least 2 secs) before the starter cranked. I do believe it is quite normal. 10MY (Sept 09) TD4 HSE Auto in Stornoway Grey (Now Gone)

When it's cold I deploy this tactic which makes a big difference:

Fob in ignition but foot off of clutch/brake and press and hold start/stop button. This fires up all the instruments, lights and the glow plugs. Press the start/stop button again before starting as normal and you should find it starts better Thumbs Up

Your just doing your pre flight checks before you crank it. Mine just starts when it's ready, fob in, press start, short delay depending on how cold it is, starts to crank, fires up immediately.
