Fuel gauge/sensor problem?

This happened on Saturday and again today so will keep an eye on it. Basically I started the engine and the low fuel warning beeped, the light came on, the gauge was at minimum and the computer claimed 7 miles left. All this despite 1/2 a tank of fuel left.

I stopped and then re-started the engine and all was well. Anyone encountered this before? LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Make sure you get all the available software updates as part of your service.

Such an update sorted a spurious "HDC not available" message and a reluctance to start (same day) after a manual stop-start in a motorway snarl-up. Dealer sent me a bill but as I had LR extended warranty I protested. He first said that extended warranty only covered failing parts and associated labour but I argued that this was the modern way and the modern fix and factory warranty/service would cover it - I got a credit note next day! Gone... 2013 XS TD4 Manual Firenze Red
