You may be wondering why this is in the off topic section. It's not related to our Freelander but our Evoque with an SD4 engine (it has identical engine and gearbox to the Freelander).

The Evoque will idle erratically in drive or reverse when manouvering or with foot on the brake. Guava did diagnostics on it yesterday with no fault codes apparent, they just raised the idle rate a bit which has made no difference.

The fault has been notified to Land Rover (mandatory with any issue on an Evoque at present), so we are awaiting there considered opinion.

Have any of you had a similar issue with a dealer resolution. if so what was the fix? 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury Corris Grey

if you are not using premium fuel try changing to bp or shell premium fuels did this with mine got rid of some of the engine niggles  rainy-city

I am using Esso diesel as does my wife's SD4 from the same garage. I have every confidence in the Esso brand, however your point is well made, I think I will try some BP or Shell on next tank fill. I am struggling to get solutions so Inwill try anything I can do without impacting warranty. 2013 Discovery HSE Luxury Corris Grey

ok see how you go i switched after advise from another member i now use only shell ultra or bp premium diesel not the regular i took about 1 tankfull to start making a differance  rainy-city
