Broken Nikon Lens - Jessops rip off

The bayonet mount on my Nikon zoom lens snapped off. It's a bit crap, made of plastic.
Rang round for quotes that were silly. Worst was Jessops who said £100 at least Big Cry .

So i rung Nikon UK yesterday who sent me a new mount which arrived today. After a bit of fiddling, my lens is fine now.
Total cost?
£2.84

Never bought anything from Jessops and never will. Right rip off.

Hats off to the young lady at NIkon UK who was so efficient Thumbs Up

I've now got my eye on a nice S/H metal mount/barrel lens.
Modern lens are crap compared to what they used to be! Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

I still use film and colour reversal.
Doesn't stop the lens getting broke though

True, but there's something reassuring about a propper metal "click" when attaching a lens to a SLR

DSLR mounts on the camera are metal plus most older lens with metal mounts will also work fine.
It was my walkabout cheap lens which broke.
I'll never buy a lens with plastic mount again! Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice.

Did a lot way back in the early 80's even had my own dark room with a Durst Enlarger, poped in to the local independent camera shop a couple of years back, not interested in it at all, suggested I should bin it as everyone's gone digital Exclamation

Turn it into a copy stand.
