LRE yesterday

Well yesterday morning put my FL2 into the dealers for some warranty work that has been waiting since new ( plus trip reset etc). Got an almost identical FL2 GS but...it was a...auto!!!

Headed down to Skipton N Yorkshire for my LRE half day and WOW!!!

The demo car was a HSE spec, very nice if you can afford it, and the facilities are excellent. Tea/coffee/cakes on arrival and during the break, and I like cake. But I do digress... Whistle

The FL2 can fairly handle the course and I'm a complete novice to the off-roading lark. I had such a good time. we skipped the car overview as I kinda already own one and did about 30mins on the road which I really enjoyed in a luxurious HSE, then the real fun started. Twisted Evil

Firstly a demo in one of the "pens" deep ruts, very wet mud and grass, some wading then it was my turn and I had to throw away 10 years of driving experience. Trusting the HDC when I really didn't want to, putting the foot down so the computer would transfer the power to the opposite wheels for traction, tilting it so the seatbelt locks you in to stop you falling out and rolling over a precipice having no idea what is on the other side. Big Cry

I had so much fun and I would recommend it to everyone. I didn't want the session to end and now I've got the taste for it I may have to remove my sidesteps and join some of you boys at a day out! Thumbs Up

Thanks for sharing your experience.
I'm so looking forward to my LRE at Skipton next month.
I have been given two half-day experience sessions - one when I registered with LR prior to purchase and the second from my dealer. I have used these to book a whole day with LRE next month! Smile
Does anyone know if I can 'upgrade' this to a Level 1 course?

I know you can pay to upgrade the half day to a full day, so i don't see why you couldn't upgrade them to a level one Former Mod/Member, with the most post & Chicken George Arch nemesis
