2011 TDV8 engine chatter

Can anyone help with an engine chatter noise I'm getting on my TDV8 4.4?
It's there all the time, if I sit in the car with the radio off it sounds like a tin plate loose under the bonnet, if I open the bonnet it sounds like the diesel pump rattling or timing chain rubbing on the engine casing. When the rpm is raised the rattle speeds up but doesn't get any louder. I have just done 300 miles in the car and the noise haven't got any worse.
