After temperatures dropped below 0 a couple of days ago my Freelander 2 (2007) has started displaying a "front passenger door open" error message even though the door is closed. In consequence the car refuses to lock and lights stay on.

I suspect that it migh be a freeze problem with the sensor as this does not happen if I thaw the car in a garage for a couple of hours or temperature rises above 0. I had the car washed a couple of weeks ago and there might be som humidity in the door.

Anyone know a quick-fix for this problem?

Any help appreciated before I contact the dealer.

try taking the sensor out and spraying with wd 40 or some type of moisture dispursing oil could be condensation build up also check door drainage channels are not blocked  rainy-city
