Autos are for lazy people, who can't or won't lift their left foot apart from a visit to the urinals. Who cares anyway?

Saw my first Evoke stuck in the snow outside my house today. Rolling with laughter It was in hairdresser white. I know the driver, he waved. He might have wanted help, God knows, anyway, I just ignore him with contempt the vehicle deserves.

Perhaps he didn't have 'patented' 'serrated' 'grooves' in his tyres to 'manually' plough through the 'hefty' snow and shout 'yeah baby'

over the last few months the auto box owners have said how crap the clutch is at failing on manual versions to the auto i have noticed lately that there has been quite a few g/box problems and failures whith auto transmisions so wich is the best then Question Question manual box or auto

From personal experience my manual has had a failure with the solenoid at the gear lever meaning I couldn't change gear. Was fixed under warranty. Don't know if autos are vulnerable to the same fault. Which ever you choose will undoubtedly be reliable as it is a Land Rover after all!

Such a shame your thread has been hijacked.

Oh no Shocked Just when normality returns you may well be responsible for resurrecting the ramblings of an insane man again. Laughing
Let's hope he's in a far off galaxy with the Tardis unable to get out of reverse gear because the solenoid has stuck and the dual mass flywheel disintegrated into ther upper atmosphere. Whistle

The only insane thing is the insanely bad auto. Manual is supreme. LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

Well said. Actually can I ask some questions about your RRS please? (I know it's an auto)

What year is it and what engine is it? Did you get a good deal? (I can't afford one, I'm just curious about your new purchase) LL.B (Hons) - University of Derby

CG RRS, will cope without Patented Serrated Grooved Tyres, his Rear Washer wont freeze as doesn't my SD4 even with a fifty fifty mix, his Auto Box is as good as mine, it doesn't jerk. They don't do a manual because it is better as an Auto, as with the SD4 if it had a manual box with the torque it develops the Clutch and Flywheel would be a week point and finally whilst driving around he manages to refrain from calling out Yeah Baby!!!!!

United Kingdom 2008 Freelander 2 TD4 XS Manual Santorini Black

2.7 auto (no manual RRS available ever) 2 yrs old,a good chunk less than £30k 22,000 miles

immaculate condition not a scratch dint or kerbed alloy, practically as good as new really

a lowly model for a RRS but has leather electric seats + sat nav . sensible 18" wheels not bling but very purposeful , rides very well .

came with new brakes and quality tyres all round , and a years full warranty, what can go wrong ?

cheaper than a brand new xs manual, by the time its had metallic and privacy added.

tax higher than fl2, but insurance was only £50 extra. servicing might sting a bit Confused

lastly a private plate so people may think its new,( the ones who dont know the RRS had a facelift)

down point, my xmas tree supplier tried to charge me a fiver extra for owning a range rover Evil or Very Mad At work

You should have agreed the price when you had the black eye, go for the sympathy vote every time, and next time you do a deal leave your teeth out , always good for 5%

I'm entitled to NFU discounts on a new LR, the dealer offered healthy discount on a new fl2 as well, I ended up haggling with the co-owner of the whole dealership, Being a Yorkshireman I didn't write the cheque without a fight.

And being a Yorkshireman also, he fair snatched the cheque from my hand Laughing
