open bonnet, find gear cables under airbox/battery. get someone to fiddle with gear stick as you grease the sliding cables. I used silicon grease. nobody fiddled with my stick I had to do it myself

in that case try the gearstick end of cables. pull up the gear gaitor At work

I too tried under the gatior and the cable underbonnet several times and it made no difference Another member of the failed FL2 clutch/DMF club, twice. |

under the gaitor there are clear plastic tubes as 'bushes' on a spring type arrangement, these get worn away and frayed. they should be replaced.

Gave every moving part under the gaitor another good greasing yesterday and bingo.
