United Kingdom 2010 Freelander 2 TD4 HSE Auto Biscay Blue
Intermittent Electrical Fault

Hi

could anyone help please

my Freelander2 Diesel 2.2 Td4 HSE (12 months old) has an imtermittant electrical fault, when I lose DAB radio completly not just 'no signal' and I am on hands free phone I get a crackle every 30 seconds (sounds like short circuit) through the speakers, the dealer told me the last time I put it in to them that they re flashed it but after a few days the problem came back.On Wednesday last week it would not start and I called the help line who sent the AA who advised that the battery was flat and arranged to take it to the dealer,it is still there...

does any one have similar problems and do they know what the cause is?

thanks

Jim

My friend has a FL2 just over 3yrs old.
Failed to start one morning, AA said it was a flat battery. Fortunately the AA person had LR experience and said it was the radio !
Checks indicated about 1.5A was being drawn from the battery when everything switched off. Removing F6 which supplies the radio stops this and saves the battery being discharged.
Figures like £400 are being mentioned for a radio !!

anyone experienced this.
