LR3 mirror in an LR2?

I was driving a loaner LR3 while my LR2 was being fixed and noticed that it looks like the LR3 mirror bakes HomeLink right into the bottom of the mirror itself...

Has anyone done any checking into whether it would be mounting-compatible with the LR2 mirror?

(hoping that the mirrors would swap out and that I could get rid of separate garage door opener - especially given that storage is "at a premium" in this car...)

Thanks,
Michael

Actually, it's an interesting thought on the mirror, I suspect the trick would be to get power to it, although since it's auto dimming maybe it's already there? Greg East
