Canada 2008 LR2 i6 SE Auto Tambora Flame
Timing Chain or Belt?

Hello Everyone,

My first post on this GREAT site!

Just picked up a 2008 LR2 with only 42,000 km. I live in Canada so I'm sure I will love this vehicle in our harsh winters. Does anyone know if my engine is equiped with a timing chainor timing belt? I have hte 3.2 inline 6...or I6..thank for your help!

I would love have a go in a Freelander with the 6 cylinder Volvo unit, but they're rarer than hen's teeth in the UK. I don't think I've ever even seen on in real life!

Diesel Freelanders (LR2) have never been available in the US or Canada. Only the petrol engine for us. I've only seen diesel Land Rovers on trips to the U.K.

There's an LPG conversion on sale currently at Perkins of Rayne

England 2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Auto Baltic Blue

I had an i6 for a while it was doing 18/20 mpg and unfortunately I was doing a lot of miles at the time, looked at having an LPG conversion fitted for about £1800 but my insurer wouldn't cover it and the best price I could get was another £100 so it had to go, must say I got a better price for it than I expected. Gone, 2007 TD4 SE Auto Baltic blue, clear side repeaters, full sized alloy spare.

English by birth..... Yorkshire by the grace of God.
