I hear everything you are saying and yes I think you have a very fair point but at the end of the day it's down to the dealer. They have procedures to follow but don't seem to.

I think you have been unlucky but have you raised your concerns with Land Rover?

2010 Freelander 2 TD4_e S Manual Stornoway Grey

Got to say, although I still like it, our FL2 has to be about the most badly manufactured car I've ever owned, and i've owned some rubbish cars! Had a new clutch and flywheel at only 20K miles, the first time I have ever had to have a clutch replaced on a car and the last one I had got up to 140K miles before getting rid for the FL2. This seems a common fault as well which isn't really acceptable on a supposedly rugged 4x4. Add to that the various other irritating faults we have had fixed and I can see why people could be driven to create a website about their experiences. Still, I'll feel smug again when it snows.

All manufactuers who use this engine and flywheel set up experienced the same issues. It cannot be put down to Freelander alone.

Going back to the original thread though, very few issues relate to Freelander 2 and those that do relate to problems where perhaps the poster is taking the *iss.

On balance the FL2 seems extreamly reliable. Interesting as well is that there is one poster who is complaining about about a land cruiser.

As ever you only hear about the complaints as these take precedence over just how good it is. For example, who complains about how good it is? Er.............no one!!

Invariably it's the dealers that let the car down and this is what needs to be addressed.

That's no excuse. If the engine, clutch and flywheel have issues, then a responsible manufacturer would can them. Search this site, lots of people have had clutch problems and that as far as I am concerned is a design flaw pure and simple. Hope my new clutch lasts more than 20K miles, though I suspect it won't.
