it tells you to slightly open another window to counteract the thud thud noise |

Quite a few vehicles have this problem if travelling at certain speeds with only one window open something to do with air pressure / wind speed /car speed definitely not a design fault on the FL2 .Nightfox will probably give you the exact mathematical equation/law of physics as to why it happens on a later post |

You could get a set of the tinted perspex winddeflectors from the likes of Rimmers,Paddocks or Craddocks who specialise in aftermarket bits for all Land Rovers

I think the optimum THUD THUD THUD is about 62mph,feels like your head will implode with one of the rear windows open....I always have to crack the front open or tilt the roof. |

Opened a back window today - probably for the first time so came on line to see if anyone else had experienced the 'helicopter overhead' effect. Found this correspondence so see it is not just our FL2 problem. It seemed to start while we were in the 50mph limit (and no we were not speeding!). Tried opening a front window as well but this didn't seem to help, and we do not have a roof light. I agree that usually Aircon is a better option but not when you have a can of petrol in the boot? The FL1 had a back window that opened and was just right for this.

this "booming" phenomenom has nothing to do with FL2 design.

True, it happens in most cars. My prev car was a TT and there it was (very very, did I say very?) bad. I've noticed it in the LR2, but not nearly as bad.

Thanks for all the advice on this. Next time the weather is warm enough I will try out all the window combinations and see which works best. We had an FL1 before and never noticed this effect. Probably because we opened the back window if we were carrying petrol or a smelly dog! |
