For those of you who've had a software upgrade and reported better mpg - are you quoting figures from the display, or have you done a brim-to-brim fill up and measured mileage ?

After my 45.8mpg trip to newcastle, went to stansted this morning at 4am reset the trip and at worst acheived 12.6mpg which then levelled out to 26.4mpg on the back roads from stansted to baldock shefford bedford . So I think I have reached at each end of the scale Normal sensible driving bit of wellington boot here and there I'm finding36-37mpg is the norm |

I'm tending to level off about 29 when lots of short trips (and all those MK roundabouts!), but managed to get a respectable 37.4 on a recent longer trip (200+ miles) A roads and mways! If I can squeeze even more (without being too light on my right loafer ) then I'm all for it! I can't see any point though in rushing to the dealer for the upgrade unless anything else needs doing soon. |

I've had a quiet time for works trips recently so was tracking my round-town mpg; which was numerous cold starts, 2-3 mile trips, although some longer trips but nothing over 7-8 miles, I'd got to a total of about 170 miles with the mpg showing 31.4mpg .... and then tonight .... the bloody computer reset occurred ... god I'm getting so pi55ed with that happening. Problem is the dealer wins out because it's so bloody difficult to organise a dealer visit to get it sorted; I'm sure this is a delaer ploy to get around some problems. |

Been averaging 27/29 MPG mixed driving, auto mode. Decided to drive home from work tonight, using manual, 20 miles. Amazed mileage went up to 36.7 mpg! Anyone else with auto tried it? Mack

Yes, get much better consumption yourself than the auto box as the auto box keeps itself in lower gears for longer using up the fuel. At lights I also knock it into neutral to stop the engine pulling. |

I was averaging 29 - 30 mpg back and forth to work (24 mile round trip), that was until I checked the tyre pressures and inflated them to the correct pressure, now averaging 33.5 mpg on the same trip. ______________________

avtur, how the hell did you achieve that??? I tripped the Tong day and had just over 6mpg for the 8 or so miles we did!!!! If you excluded Tong you would be on for high thirties?????......very impressive considering you are not making a determined effort

This ones for Carl as I know you have the HSE Auto, tonight driving home using manual, I noticed that when slowing down, if I did not change gear, the auto kicked in and changed down, have you experienced the same Mack

If you use the CommandShift, the box will still up- and down- shift for you if the revs climb to high or the load is too great, so it's still partly automatic, even in CS mode. |
