Nokia C2-02 Bluetooth Compatibility

Wife wants a fairly basic phone such as the Nokia C2-02. Before anybody says get an iPhone, she has just got an iPad instead for emails etc.

My query is whether it will work with the FL2 Bluetooth system. It doesn't figure on the list for Land Rover (Bluetooth Connectivity Centre) as it's probably too new. She doesn't want to risk this phone if the bluetooth won't work. Anybody had experience of this phone?

My view is that it may be worth the risk as Nokias are pretty basic and surely a new model should be compatible - or am I being naive? She can't take it back if it doesn't work as it will be on pay-as-you -go.

I'm sure I'll stand corrected, but Bluetooth is Bluetooth - as long as the version numbers are compatible there should be no problems.
They should all adhere to a certain spec and function otherwise nothing would ever be compatible.
Seems to be compatible with all the headsets and car kits I can find.

Chris, the problems arise from connectivity between the phone and car's bluetooth system. For instance, my old Samsung will work hands free but it drops out at regular intervals and this is, apart from anything else, dangerous as you have to keep reconnecting.

The Car Phone Warehouse people confirm that some phones do experience connectivity problems with certain cars. This is why Land Rover test them with their vehicles and publish a list of compatible phones.

I don't know about the C2-02, but I have a further basic phone, the C1-01.
I keep it because of its loooooooong battery life and perfect bluetooth integration with FL2.
It downloads the phonebook into the car, last 10 outgoing calls, last 10 missed, last 10 incomming calls.
You can access the phonebook by the FL2 unit and/or the steering wheel buttons.
Also the sound is clear and is not dropping at all.
It connects and disconnects all the time quitelly and without any problems. Sometimes I even forget that the phone automatically registers with the car and I am surprised when I am getting a call through the speakers.
And the bluetooth hardware, I believe, is pretty the same. So, in my opinion, go for it.
And also its headset/earset output, a standard 3.5mm jack, works perfectly with the FL2 AUX input.
In this way I can even use it as an MP3 player. It accepts micro SD cards and the outputed sound is clear, strong and crisp without any noise or interference.

Like Alex, I have a basic C1-01 which is a good match for the FL2 bluetooth functionality. They can be picked up for next to nothing and can take a 32gb micro SD card for media. Battery life is amazing so if you don't need the smart phone functionality I would recommend it. - 2007(57) XS Auto, Rimini Red, Alpaca Leather.
- GCS Hawke - Sports, BRG, Vulcan 2.1 inj'. My toy - built it myself in 2001.

I have the C2-02 model (provided by my work) and I won't upgrade it. It connects flawlessly, has all the addresses, last calls etc and has never misbehaved. Works seamlessly with the FL2. Thumbs Up
Again the battery life is outstanding.
