being the first down a snowed tracked is difficult as everything is white especially if its sunny you cant distinguish anything, so unless you know the road intimately it will not be fun at all, you wont know whats a snow drift , rock, old gate or drunken pinky crashed out in the snow.

Wait for some snow and then book yourself a 1/2 day or full day at your nearest Land Rover Experience Centre and let the instructor show you/tell you how to get the best out of your Freelander 2 in the snow. If you don't want to wait for the snow then you could try booking once the ground gets wet as it will still give you a reasonable understanding of how your Freelander 2 will handle in slippery conditions.
