Water Leak - Sunroof

I have raised this matter as incidental to other subjects in the forum over the past week but think it may be worthy of more focus. I hope you agree.
To reiterate: The water leak appeared through the sunroof rocker switch housing during the torrential rain we had a few weeks ago. At first a slow drip on to the radio below then, on the same journey whilst taken a roundabout, a deluge came from the same outlet and drenched everything below - suggesting a reservoir of rainwater had collected up there. When I got to shelter I opened and shut the roof, opened and held back the insect screen and closed again in an attempt to 're-seat'. The return journey in the same heavy rain revealed the same leak in the same quantities.
The dealership took the car and, gladly, found where the rainwater was entering. To cut a long story short... It is now three days in dock. The sunroof is removed and that one will not be replaced. A replacement is on order. I would like to hear from anyone having experienced the same sunroof problem and how that unfolded. ('scuse the pun) with any available technical information on its failure and/or when the replacement roof is likely to arrive. Thanks

United Kingdom 2013 Freelander 2 TD4_e XS Manual Firenze Red

It is now seven days that my SE has been in the body shop without a sun roof. To be expected, a replacement is not available off the shelf therefore one has to be 'pulled' (their word) from the assembly line. That is expected to be delivered tomorrow, day eight. No one at the dealership is either willing or able to explain to me exactly why a replacement is required other than to tell me the leak could not be sorted other than by replacing the complete unit. Anyone out there know more? Firenze Red XS TD4 01/2013 . Averaging 1800 miles per month. My 5th Freelander in 11 years. Devotee?

Talking to myself here but some may find this information useful.
I got the car back this afternoon after nine days in the dealership's body shop. I eventually got a full explanation for the need to replace the sunroof. I was told the sunroof frame is bonded to the roof of the car and it was necessary to remove and refix that frame to stop the water leak. Unfortunately whilst wire cutting through the bonding they cut through the plastic frame and it snapped. Hence the replacement.
Everything looks OK and I am assured they have tested for water ingress and they are satisfied the leak is cured. There appears little need for you guys to worry about sunroof leaks as they could not find any history of this occurring elsewhere in the UK dealership's FL2 warranty reports. That's what they tell me anyway...
It's good to have her back. Thumbs Up Firenze Red XS TD4 01/2013 . Averaging 1800 miles per month. My 5th Freelander in 11 years. Devotee?
