Whats a perimeter alarm

My perimeter alarm was nothing too lavish, basically a indoor alarm unit, that has PIR sensors surrounding my house, so no section can be approached without at least one triggering the alarm

Installation was easy, set each sensor to the 4 pin code, put battery in and position Plug alarm into the wall

Basically its a battery powered driveway alarm that can have multiple sensors linked

About £40 in total, best money spent on a system to monitor whilst I am in, obviously doesnt do much whilst I am away, but I can set the alarm to 100db siren instead of a bing bong

Frind of ours has a sensor-operated outdoor light set up, with a webcam which he can access on his laptop. I think there's some sort of motion sensor alert as well that comes up on the computer. So he can keep an eye on his house - may not be much use when he's in Africa, but at least he gets a photo of anyone hanging around, and can e-mail it to his local police.

I looked into a simular system at my old house

You could set up a certain area in a cameras view and it would email you a photo of the image, login via iPhone as could switch between each camera, decent bit of kit, but decided it would make it look like I had something to protect
