2007 Freelander 2 TD4 SE Manual Izmir Blue

Sorry to hijack the thread but I have a (potentially) similar problem - took my car in today to have a slight scrape on the driver's side front wing repaired. When I went to collect the car the fob starts the car OK but won't work remotely to lock/ unlock it. Have done an hours drive since then and no improvement. Is this likely to be coincidence that it's gone flat or the receiver has stopped working whilst the scrape was being repaired (I'm not a big believer in coincidence) or is there anything in the vicinity of the front wing/ bumper that could have been knocked/ loosened whilst it was being resprayed? I've tried to spare key and no luck with that either but I couldn't guarantee that that was working before.
