Satnav TMC events.

Using the satnav; I don't know if this is a RDS/TMC problem, or a DVD problem. Regarding the TMC event icons;
1) Travelling northbound through France on motorway, about 10 miles ahead, a Red arrow pointing northwards, ie on our carriageway. Checked about diversions and avoid points etc, but the re-route added another 80 miles, so kept going on original course. On arrival at event, found an almighty Q of traffic SOUTHBOUND. ! Arrow was wrong way round !
2) Same day, same route and direction, 100 miles apart, absolutely empty motorway; Yellow arrow pointing north about 5 miles ahead and voice warning "there is heavy traffic ahead". Arrived at event, ! Absolutely no sign of any traffic and road completely clear !
3) Occasionally a blue arrow appears about 20 miles ahead of our location in same direction and stays in tandem for up to 30 mins. Obviously we never catch-up with the arrow; but what does it mean? There is no mention of a blue arrow in handbook.
Any comments gratefully received.

We all have smartphones I think and what I do is use my phone and google maps as a satnav as this seems to have the latest traffic and diversion information. It does not cost anything and as long as you attach your charging lead when you are using it the battery will always be full as well...

Very Happy Thumbs Up
