Mute function

Does the basic radio have a mute function/lead?

This was discussed a few months ago. Judgement was to use the off button or volume control, I hit the off button if needed..... JT Upgraded to an ex demo, 7 mth old, Rimini Red/Ebony Napoli Auto HSE on 28th Jan 2011, added roof rails, mudflaps and side strips.
Gone - A great 57 Plate, Auto SE, Bought Feb 2009, Roof Rails and Mudflaps added on purchase. Blue colour, anything but drug dealer black.....

Exactly.. Why do you need a mute button when off or mode on the steering wheel does the job

What I mean, is there a way to attach a lead at the back of the radio wich will mute the radio. For example in case of a carkit.

Yes there is a mute lead on the back of the radio in the 's' model.
My last Freelander had a parrot car kit fitted and this was wired in to mute the radio when the phone was in use.
