steering whine?

HI,
Just noticed something in the carpark. When turning the wheel and driving at slow speed there is a distinct whine, like an electric motor, which comes more pronounced the more you tighten the steering. It's also audible at slow (<30mph) speeds when going around bends.

I presume this is the powersterring motor, but it doesn't sound like this should be normal. Has anyone been experiencing this??

I can hear it as well. Think it's just normal.
I'll try to get an official answer from a technician later this week as i am going for service.
Will keep you posted.

Hi,
Yeah - sorry for the delay, but the power steering fluid is all ok. I'm taking the LR into the garage tomorrow to get a software update and I'll mention it to them.

Amp? I presume it's the in-car amplifier. I've got an HSE with a gazillion speakers, something big needs to be driving it.
